Abstract

Objective To investigate the related risk factors and preventive measures of intracranial infection in patients with recurrent intracranial glioma. Methods The clinical data of patients with recurrent glioma surgery from March 2007 to March 2015 were retrospectively analyzed. The univariate and multivariate logistic regression analysis was performed on the risk factors of in tracranial infection. Results Univariate analysis showed that the combination o f diabetes, organ dysfunction, pro longed bed rest be fore surgery, and t he interval between secondary operations less than or equal to 6 months, the preoperative Kamofsky functional status ( KPS) score was less than or equal to 70 points, the operation time was greater than or equal to 4 hours, preoperative radio therapy, preoperative chemotherapy, postoperative intensive care were significantly related to intracranial infection after reoperation of recurrent glioma. Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed t hat the independent risk factors for intracranial infection in patients with recurrent glioma after the second operation were from strong to weak: concomitant diabetes, KPS score less than or equal to 70 points before surgery, and operation time greater than or equal to 4 hours. Conclusion The main risk factors for intracranial infection in t he second operation of recurrent glioma are combined diabetes, preoperative KPS score of 70 or less, and operation time of 4 hours or more. Taking preventive measures according to the cause is the key to reduce the rate of intracranial infection. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
