SELEÇÃO DE ÁREA PARA CONSTRUÇÃO DE ATERRO SANITÁRIO NO MUNICÍPIO DE ESMERALDAS, MG, A PARTIR DA UTILIZAÇÃO DE FERRAMENTAS DE GEOPROCESSAMENTO.

The present work aimed to use geoprocessing tools to identify areas suitable for the construction of landfill in Esmeraldas-MG. For this, the ideal landfill allocation area was calculated through population projection and project sizing. In addition, to map the regions suitable for the implementation of the landfill, the overlap of the maps and the subtraction of the buffer's elaborated for each analyzed variable was used. The results allowed to verify six potential areas for implementation of the enterprise. Thus, aiming at mitigating the complexity that involves the selection of areas for the construction of sanitary landfills, the use of geoprocessing techniques proved to be an effective tool for the preliminary identification of ideal areas for the implementation of this type of project.
