Abstract
- This paper deals with the development of a five-step rapid manufacturing technique for iron scaffold fabrication based on micro-extrusion-based 3D printing and pressureless microwave sintering. Two different pore morphology structures were fabricated with similar strut and pore sizes. Further, the mechanical properties of the fabricated scaffolds were evaluated. • Novel manufacturing route to fabricate OPTS of iron by using micro-extrusion-based 3D printing and pressureless microwave sintering. • Different unit cell-based iron scaffolds with 31- 60.22 % porosity were fabricated. • Maximum Young's modulus of 370 was obtained.
