Abstract
- Date of birth: February 21, 1961 Occupation: Economist On October 14, 2019, the winners of the annual Nobel Prize in Economics were announced; the three economists, among them Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) professor , would be sharing the award of nine million Swedish krona (approximately $945,000) "for their experimental approach to alleviating global poverty", as the official press release stated. It was the practical aspects of Banerjee, Duflo, and Kremer's approach that set it apart from most of the economics work that had previously won the Nobel.
