Abstract

In this paper it is analyzed the way how the stability of a vertical shaft PB5,5 (concrete shaft, B350, with an internal diameter of 5,5m) is affected at the approach of the longwall face. After such an analysis, the boundary of the safety pillar can be determined and, if this limit is exceeded, can be determined the most affected areas of the shaft’s structure. Therefore, the purpose of this research was to analyze how a shaft behaves, under the influence of the underground mining, in the geological and mining conditions specific to the Jiu Valley coal basin. In order to achieve this study, was used the 3D finite element numerical modelling, using the CESAR-LCPC software. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
