The world population is increasing rapidly in nowadays. In contrast with, if resources cannot be increased to meet the needs of the growing population, living standards of individuals and welfare of countries will be adversely affected. The aim of this study is to investigate the relationship between population growth and development in sub-Saharan African countries. For the empirical research conducted by the panel data analysis method, the data of the 1990-2017 period were used. According to the findings of the study, a bidirectional causality relationship was found between population growth and development. In sub-Saharan African countries, population growth is important for development and development is important for population growth.
