Abstract

A 55-year-old right-handed man presented with a 6-year history of solitary longitudinal leuconychia and nailplate grooving, with distal onycholysis and triangular-shaped plate erosion of left thumbnail. Dermoscopy showed longitudinal leucoxanthonychia with a few splinter haemorrhages and triangular-shaped nail plate distal erosion, with localized hyperkeratosis and thinning of the nail plate on the corresponding free edge (Fig.). GLO:DF2/01apr20:ced14098-fig-0001.jpg PHOTO (COLOR): Clinical and dermoscopical appearance: longitudinal leucoxanthonychia of left thumbnail with distal onycholysis, few splinter haemorrhages and triangular-shaped nail plate distal erosion. gl The differential diagnosis included squamous cell carcinoma/Bowen disease, onychopapilloma and subungual (myxoid or not) fibrokeratoma.
