Abstract
- The article examines the decision of the U.S. Supreme Court in the case McLaurin v. Oklahoma State Regents, in which African American George W. McLaurin was first denied admission to the University of Oklahoma in accordance to Oklahoma's legal system of racial separation and segregation laws. Topics discussed are modification of the procedure for admitting African American students, discrimination against African American students, and difficulties university administrators confronted.
