Abstract

The article of reflection, is born as a academic product of the trajectory of research of the research group Pedagogy and Children (Pedainfa) of the Faculty of Education, assigned to the Bachelor's degree in early Childhood Pedagogy of the University of Quindío; the purpose of which is to place emphasize on the quality in early education by looking at the attributes for the Care and early Childhood Education (ECCE) in Latin America. Since the 90's, the educational landscape is oriented to guarantee the right to equal education and quality, focusing on the efforts in childhood. The article has four sections; the first characterizes the situation of the education system in Latin America in the 80's and 90's; that formed the frames of reference for the quality of the initial education. The second, describes the concepts of educational quality and education initial, highlighting the right to education. The third, focuses on the reflection on various connotations of the concept of infancy and early childhood. Fourth, he argues the initial education from the attributes and key challenges for the quality care and education. Finally, it outlines the final thoughts that summon you to continue working as teachers and researchers around this theme. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
