Abstract

Literary texts are an excellent teaching resource for the development of linguistic competence in Spanish as a foreign language. In addition, these texts allow developing literary competence, which includes the acquisition of reading habits. Reading favors student autonomy, being the ideal goal to enjoy reading a complete book. From level B1+, it is possible to carry out reading projects with the use of encouragement techniques. The article discusses the theoretical and methodological bases of an encouragement project to read complete literary works in Spanish as a foreign language. Finally, it describes a practical case of reading encouragement, carried out with bilingual high school students in Poland. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
