Abstract
- The article examines whether General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) prohibit employers from undertaking pre-employment vetting in relation to criminal records. It mentions that a employer needs to carry out criminal record checks for certain roles under safeguarding requirements or Great Britain's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) Conduct Rules. It mentions that an appropriate policy document explains employer's procedures for complying with data protection principles.
