Abstract

We read with interest the article by Cho et al ([1]), published in a recent issue of I Critical Care Medicine i on neurocritical care for patients receiving extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). In this circumstance, the security of the diagnosis is essential, and it is important to measure arterial blood gases from both right upper limb and femoral vessels/post-membrane lung samples in order to ensure all systemic blood gas measurements are over the legal threshold ([4]).
