Abstract

Expanding new avenues for renewable energy and reducing the consumption of fossil fuels in a time of ever-increasing demand for energy is challenging. Thermoelectricity, associated with generating electric power due to an applied temperature gradient or thermal flow due to an applied voltage, offers the potential to utilize some of this "free" energy in all-solid-state conversion devices for power generation.
