Abstract

LAT1-specific inhibitor is effective against T cell-mediated allergic skin inflammation LAT1 inhibition alleviates T cell-dependent dermatitis by suppressing glycolysis/OXPHOS-cyclin/CDK axis in Th2 cells. LAT1 substrate depletion also impaired OXPHOS and glycolysis (Figure S3), implying that the JPH203-mediated down-regulation of OXPHOS and glycolysis is caused by amino acid starvation. The LAT1-glycolysis/OXPHOS-cyclin/CDK axis could provide an advantage to T cells for the adaptive tuning of cytokine production and cell proliferation in response to nutrient shortages (either glucose or amino acids).
