Abstract

The article explores significant elements of research in relation to the relationship between number and quantity, and spatial reasoning, and the development of children's reasoning and mathematical thinking in relation to these big ideas. Topics discussed include significant development in the understanding of the early learning of number, and tips in supporting young children's number sense.
