Abstract
- We studied magnetoencephalographic (MEG) responses to faces presented centrally and peripherally. At the center, the left and right fusiform areas showed similar activation pattern (peaked at 80 and 130 ms), but with stronger activation in the right than left fusiform. In the periphery, relative to the image presentation side, the contralateral fusiform activated much earlier and stronger than the ipsilateral fusiform. When the images were presented in the upper visual field, contralateral fusiform and V1/V2 had their first peak activation at similar latency (65 ms). [Copyright &y& Elsevier]
