Impact of 'Open Data' on 'News Media' and its Effectiveness in Social and Political Development of Pakistan (A case study from UK Perspective).

"Open Data' is collection of easily accessible data that is to be available for general use without any restrictions. 'Open Data' is gaining momentum in literature and language for the purpose of research. Therefore, many developed countries are planning to start getting involved with 'Open Data'. Moreover, the focus is shifting from opening as much data as possible towards realizing the benefits of 'Open Data'.'Open Data' analysis has been taken up contemporary as a new trend in the world of information and communication technology. With technological advancements many countries are showing interest in opening their governmental approved data to the public. Moreover, many benefits and positive impacts have been identified playing a role in the eagerness of countries to implement 'Open Data' programs. Some of the discovered benefits of 'Open Data' include transparency and credibility of the information, participation and self-empowerment to the citizens, reliability in news growth, and stimula tion of innovation through re-use of data.The research explained how the fact that when News Media (Media which covered political news) had opened their data both internally and externally improved their capacity to innovate. Lastly, this paper described how some of the tasks mentioned previously could be outsourced by the newsroom researchers, bringing a new actor in the ecosystem. There are plenty of data sources that might provide a different angle on the perspective and large public datasets from various authors, countries and literary agencies.
