POPNEWS: DIVULGANDO A NEUROCIÊNCIA ATRAVÉS DE UMA REDE SOCIAL.

Abstract
- The dissemination of knowledge about how the brain works to the population is important, especially because these knowledge is related to daily life and to education. Besides that, the neuroscience generally attracts people's attention, mainly young people's attention. The social networks have been proved to be tools with great potential for information disseminating due to their wide reach and number of users. Thus, the aim of this work is to report actions developed to promote the dissemination of topics related to neuroscience through the social network Facebook®, in the page of POPNEURO, linked to the outreach program "POPNEURO: Actions for Dissemination and Popularization of Neuroscience". Initially, in 2013, a page called "Neuroscience in the School" was created on the Facebook® with the intention of disseminating scientific knowledge related to neuroscience applied to education, which was done through the sharing of materials related to these areas published in other pages. In order to make better use of this online space, in 2017 a team of students linked to the POPNEURO was formed to write our own texts, in the format of postings, addressing topics related to neuroscience and education in a more attractive and easy way to understanding. The posting of the material was done twice a week, following a schedule of topics previously defined by the team, supervised by a neuroscientist. Currently, the page "Neuroscience in School" has 1,984 followers. In addition, the posts created by the team have had wide reach, which generates users' reactions/clicks, demonstrating that social networks can be useful spaces for serious and responsible dissemination of scientific information, and that the creation of texts with accessible language is important to qualify the use of this type of tool. Thus, the use of social networks for the dissemination of scientific knowledge can be an effective mean for the appropriation of scientific knowledge related to neuroscience by the community, considering its easy access to the general public.
