Abstract
- An interview with the mother of Charlotte Nebres, the first African-American ballerina cast of New York City Ballet's production of George Balanchine's "The Nutcracker." Among the issues she discussed include her support for the dance aspirations of her daughter, her daughter's experience meeting Misty Copeland, the first Black ballerina chosen by American Ballet Theatre as principal after 75 years, and her advice to Black parents who have children who aspire careers in ballet.
