Abstract

This paper used a transfer function to evaluate the causal relationship between Science and Mathematics using interval scores from the 12-year basic education program in Taiwan. Our sample comprised 1,922 graduates from the same junior high school over the period from 2008 to 2013. Through the application of fuzzy theory, we developed a new model to describe the fuzzy correlation between Science and Mathematics. The results of the empirical study strongly indicate that knowledge and skills in Mathematics do indeed form the foundation of science learning. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
