Diagnóstico endoscópico de uncinariasis: presentación de un caso con anemia ferropénica grave.

We present the clinical case of a young man from a rural area who required transfusion of blood products due to severe iron deficiency anemia although there was no obvious bleeding. Multiple tests ruled out hemolytic, autoimmune causes and chronic disease as the cause of his anemia. Endoscopy found massive ancylostomiasis, a potentially curable cause of anemia in our environment.
