Abstract

With the progress of cable manufacturing technology in recent years, pipe-type cables have become increasingly popular. A POP cable consists of three-phase coaxial cables placed in a steel pipe. It has good insulation withstand strength and induction shielding characteristics. However, the centers of the three cables and the pipe are arranged eccentrically and admittance and impedance characteristics are considerably complicated, making it difficult to analyze its propagation characteristics. This paper proposes a new fast and accurate digital computer program to calculate the propagation characteristics of POP cable.
