Abstract

Herein, CsPbBr 3 quantum dots (QDs) were successfully synthesized via the supersaturated recrystallization (SR) method by using para-xylene as the anti-solvent. The as-prepared CsPbBr 3 QDs exhibited high quantum efficiency (78%) and narrow luminescent peaks with a full width at half maximum of around 21.2 nm. Compared with the commonly-used anti-solvents, para-xylene shows low toxic effect and high freezing point (13.3 °C). Therefore, CsPbBr 3 QDs can be easily preserved in the refrigerator like an ice-cream for further use. The maximum photoluminescence (PL) emission intensity would reach 90% retention after 60 days' storage in the refrigerator. By using this simple method, the stability of CsPbBr 3 QDs has been effectively improved for long-term storage and further application. Image 1 • Low toxic para-xylene is used as the anti-solvent for synthesizing CsPbBr 3 QDs. • The as-prepared CsPbBr 3 QDs exhibit bright green luminescence (QY of 78%), and narrow luminescent peaks. • CsPbBr 3 QDs could be frozen in the refrigerator and keep stable in para-xylene.
