Abstract

The authors convey their thoughts about cellular plasticity in salivary gland regeneration. Topics mentioned include two types of ductal progenitor cells that respond to radiation differently, lineage tracing for a longer period of 90 days after irradiation, and the impact of differentiated duct cells on cell fate upon ectopic expression of the Sox10 transcription factor.
