Abstract
- The article deals with the concern over the impact of a new citizenship law on Muslims in India. Home minister Amit Shah has introduced his Citizenship (Amendment) Bill that would grant refugees quicker access to citizenship. The position of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on the law is discussed, as well as the move by the Indian Union Muslim League to appeal against the law to the Supreme Court.
