Abstract

The micropropagation of shoot apices is an important tool for obtaining banana seedlings with a high quality standard, as well as for mass cloning of genotypes-elites. The present work had the objective of evaluating the use of activated carbon in the culture medium the in vitro establishment of banana silver, nanica and earth. The work was carried out in the Biotechnology laboratory of the UNIVAG Centro Universitário de Várzea Grande- MT, from November of 2018 to January of 2019. The design was completely randomized in factorial scheme 3x2, being three varieties (prata, nanica and terra) and absence and presence of activated carbon in the culture medium, total six treatments with five replicates. Oxidation of the explants (%) and contamination (%) by fungi and / or bacteria were evaluated. According to the results obtained, it can be observed that all the explants underwent oxidation independent of the presence or not of the activated carbon in the culture medium. There was no in vitro establishment and contamination for any of the tested varieties. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
