Abstract

Potato growers using sprout suppressant chlorpropham (CIPC) will need to thoroughly clean stores after the 2019 crop is unloaded next summer to lower the risk of residue exceedances after the active is withdrawn. It is unrealistic to believe farms will rebuild stores from scratch to eliminate potential MRL exceedances, so measures need to be put in place for October 2020 to reduce the risk for growers concerned about crop rejections caused by contaminated stores.
