DÈS LES RELATIONS AVEC LES PARENTS À LA RELATION CONJUGALE: LA CONTINUITÉ ET LA DISCONTINUITÉ DES MODÈLES D'ATTACHEMENT.

The purpose of this study was to verify the relationship between attachment representations associated to parents and romantic partners when experiencing relational stress. A semi-structured interview focused on attachment representations was used for this purpose and was applied to sixty adults. The results indicated similarities between attachment representations regarding to parents and to individuals experiencing stress within their romantic relationship. These similarities were more systematic among representations associated with mothers and with the first significant partners. It seems that, when insecurity of attachment was internalized from parental relationship, this pattern could be reactivated on romantic relationships. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
