Abstract

In order to solve the problem of energy efficiency in mobile wireless sensor networks, this paper proposed a mobile wireless sensor network ( WSN) routing protocol based on active region. This method used the relative positions of the source and the sink node to form the active region for routing. The mobile node in the network used a sleep-wakeup pattern to conserve energy. It used the motion vector information, such as current position, direction and speed and the remaining energy of the node to select the neighbors that could provide the maximum connection retention time. It also used the motion vector information to wake up the mobile node in the active area. Experiments show that compared with other routing protocols, this method has higher reliability in packet transmission process. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
