Abstract

Through a co-word analysis of the proceedings, this study identifies salient aspects of the evolution of published proceedings of Association for Information Systems (AIS) conferences from 2007 to 2016. We provide insights into the intellectual development and unpack specific issues within the information systems (IS) field by conducting a quantitative analysis of titles of 12,866 papers gathered from the AIS Library. The underlying assumption of this research is that the conference proceedings represent emerging and declining trends in scientific IS research. As a result, this study ascertains trends and patterns of the topics of the field. The findings present valuable insights into the state and development of the IS field, revealing rising and declining trends through several analyses. This research is the most recent to investigate the trends in the IS field through conference proceedings using a descriptive approach. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
