Abstract
- The article examines the poetry of poet and journalist Faiz Ahmed Faiz (1911-1984) to discuss exile and imprisonment as a gateway to nature. Also cited are a brief history of Pakistan's government including the creation of military regimes due to U.S. influence, Faiz's campaign promoting democracy and civil liberties, as well as some Faiz's poems as a prisoner like "Captivity."
