A MUSICOTERAPIA NA REDUÇÃO DO ESTRESSE DE PAIS DE BEBÊS PRÉ-TERMOS: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA.

Objective: Identify, through the scientific literature, the use of music therapy as a therapeutic strategy in the reduction of preterms babies' parents stress. Methodology: It is an integrative review using complete scientific articles indexed on Lantin American Literature (LILACS), PubMed and Medical Literature Analysis and Retrieval System OnLine (MedLine) databases, published in Portuguese and English languages, and containing selected descriptors. Results: Among the three articles introduced in this review, two of them are randomized clinical trials of quantitative character, and the other one is a literature review. The main benefits pointed out by researches, showed that the use of 30 to 60 minutes of music therapy session can reduce the stress factor of premature infants' parents, pre and postnatal pain, and provide improvement in cardiac variability. Conclusion: It is possible to observe music is a strategy with positive effect on stress reduction of preterms babies' parents. Also, had an effective influence on the cardiac condition of parents and on the reduction of labor pain in mothers. So, it is suggested an intensification of the use of music in neonatal ICUs as an integrative therapy for premature infant's parents. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
