Abstract
- The article deals with flow-experiences of primary school children in a plastic modelling workshop. Although it is highly relevant for the field of (art) education and pedagogy due to its positive effects for the development and performance of the students, research of flow-experiences has been very limited until now. Participants of several case studies were examined with regard to the appearance of flow-experiences during a plastic modelling workshop. Here, the method of participating observations was unique, because previous attempts to capture the phenomenon used mostly quantitative methods. Results show that flow-experiences during a plastic modelling class can be observed in some children. It seemed to be significant whether children had previously gained experiences with the material and the technique. From these results conclusions can be drawn for lessons which allow for flow experience. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
