Abstract

Idiopathic Hypereosinophilic syndrome (HES) is defined as absolute eosinophil count(AEC) of more than 1500/ul and involvement of tissue and/or bone marrow with extensive eosinophilic infiltrates after excluding primary and secondary causes [1]. She also presented with chest pain and pleural effusion, which is a rare finding in HES. Heterogeneity of human eosinophil glucocorticoid receptor expression in hypereosinophilic patients: absence of detectable receptor correlates with resistance to corticotherapy.
