Abstract
- The article analyzes how "BLACK GIRL: Linguistic Play (BGLP)," a full-length dance work by Camille A. Brown and Dancers (CABD) company, illustrates the world of African American womanhood through movement, soundscape and performance. Topics covered include Clark Hine's dissemblance theory and the politics of tenderness, softness and expanse of BGLP and how BGLP theorize African American womanhood in non-verbal performance.
