The Feasibility of Fast MRI to Reduce CT Radiation Exposure With Acute Traumatic Head Injuries.

The article comments on the feasibility of fast magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to reduce radiation exposures of children with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) computed tomography (CT). It references a study which assessed the feasibility and accuracy of fast MRI to diagnose TBIs in children. The use of highly sensitive, validated clinical decision rules in the modality for neuroimaging children with head injuries is discussed.
