FACTORS LIMITING THE INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF ECOLOGICAL VEHICLES IN ROMANIA.

The context of the accelerated fall in global cumulated oil reserves with an increase in annual oil consumption was the opportunity for the development and production of green cars. This paper aims to study the link between the sale of ecological vehicles and its impact on the pillars of sustainable development, respectively the social, environmental and economic pillar. This way we can identify a number of factors limiting the sale of ecological vehicles. Although these factors are analyzed in other countries of the European Union, they are related to the economic specificity, the gross domestic product and the purchasing power generally existing in Romania. Solutions used in other EU countries can not be applied without having similar conditions. Our country's energy dependence has increased from 58.5% in 2010 to 62.4% in 2015, requiring us to look for sustainable solutions to reduce CO2 production in transportation. Increasing the number of electric cars can be an important solution in the context of global climate change and the alarming increase in greenhouse gases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
