Les figures religieuses fondatrices du Québec dans les manuels scolaires de culture religieuse : entre mémoire et perte de sens.

This paper deals with the relative significance given to the religious founding figures of Montreal and of Nouvelle-France in general, as well as what sort of representations are proposed of these figures, in the teaching books of Quebec's Ethics and Religious Culture Program in those chapters where religious heritage is addressed. We shall try to identify the essential qualities of the memory that is transmitted to today's young generations of the religious project which was that of Quebec's original settlers, in today's profondly secularized Quebec society, as well as to what extent the deep motivations driving these founding figures can be understood today.
