Abstract
- Objective To explore the clinical efficacy of bilateral superior and inferior gluteal artery perforator flaps in the repair of large sacrococcygeal pressure ulcers. Methods A local rotation flap was designed, pedicled with the bilateral superior and inferior gluteal artery perforator. The area of the flaps was from 30 cm × 18 cm to 45 cm × 25 cm. For 8 patients with large sacrococcygeal pressure ulcers (15 cm × 9 cm to 18 cm × 12 cm), the wound was covered by flaps. Results All flaps survived, of which 6 cases were healed in the first stage and 2 cases in which healing was delayed. All patients were followed up from 1 to 3 months. There was no recurrence of pressure ulcers, the elasticity of the flaps was good, and bilateral buttocks were symmetrical. Conclusion The application of bilateral superior and inferior gluteal artery perforator flaps was a simple and feasible method in the repair of large sacrococcygeal pressure ulcers.
