Abstract

Infiltrating myeloid derived suppressor cells and tumor-associated macrophages (TAMs) are important components of the immunosuppressive tumor microenvironment. We recently reported that tasquinimod, which binds to S100A9, impairs both infiltration and function of these cells. Here we discuss the underlying mechanisms responsible for targeting multiple suppressive populations and the modulation of the tumor microenvironment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
