Abstract

The article discusses a rare neurological disorder called foreign accent syndrome (FAS) which is most commonly caused by a stroke or brain lesion. Topics discussed include the story of one FAS patient, effects of FAS on several different aspects of speech, and the root of most cases of FAS being found in the mouth and throat.
