Abstract
- The article presents a relationship between opera and screen media focusing on aesthetic and political implications of technological reproduction, remediation of musical-theatrical works and challenges inherent in operatic stage productions. Topics include diversity of practices and objects in opera, significant changes in presenting opera, specificity of reenactments of Puccini's and Verdi's operas as compared to conventional opera films, and discussion of the project "Maria by Callas"
