Gait as an Integrative Measure and Predictor of Health Across Species.

The author looks at four studies that examined gait, its determinants, and its associated sequelae. Highlights include spatial and temporal parameters of gait as endpoints in preclinical and clinical trials of interventions targeting the biology of aging, unobstructed and obstructed walking in older women and men classified as nonfallers or fallers, and comparison of study participants' reaction time to two independent unisensory stimuli and a multisensory stimulus.
