Abstract

In a single-centre, retrospective, observational study involving 20 paediatric patients, who received canakinumab between 1 November 2015 and 31 October 2017 through a vial-sharing programme, four patients [ I ages and sexes not stated i ] were described, who developed bacterial tracheitis, viral upper respiratory tract infection, varicella zoster virus infection or viral gastroenteritis following treatment with canakinumab for cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome (CAPS). Subsequently, the patients developed bacterial tracheitis (n=1), presumed viral upper respiratory tract infection (n=1), uncomplicated varicella zoster virus infection (n=1) or presumed viral gastroenteritis [n=1; I durations of treatments to reactions onsets not stated i ].
