Abstract

Problem definition: Nowadays, most of the city's public spaces and streets, are being heavily dominated by the machines, due to the irregular increases in the vehicles' number, and living pattern's dependency on it. This issue has made a lot of problems in the civil matters, including increasing the ecological pollution, decreasing the public health, increasing the maintenance and repairing costs etc. For this reason, these days, walkability plans are considered as a solution for decreasing these problems. Imam Khomeini Street, located in Dezfoul city, is one of the main streets of the city, in which the riders and pedestrians' traffic is very high, causing several traffic problems in this part of the city Purpose: The purpose of this research is to check the possibility of implementing a walkability plan, around the central tissue of Dezful city, in terms of transportation and accessability dimensions. Methodology: The research method is descriptive–analytical, the data having been collected through the researcher-made questionnaire. In order to analyze the data, we benefited from single-sample T-test in SPSS software, also the structural equations modeling method, using Amos software. Results: in evaluating the plan's administration, in transportation dimension, according to data obtained from the T-test, the Significance level were under 0.05. For this reason, in transporting aspect, this plan is not appropriate to be executed, because its execution, causes problems in transportation.
