MATERIALIDADES DE LO ESCRITO: ILUSTRACIÓN DE CUBIERTAS EN LA INVITACIÓN DE BEATRIZ GUIDO.

According to one of the main concepts of the material bibliography, which states that the format of the book conditions the meaning of the text, we propose the analysis of illustrated covers and book jackets. Because it is a type of graphic discourse, it is closer to editorial design than the author of the text. However, illustrated covers are responsible for different interpretations and are addressed to different kinds of readers. We exemplify this phenomenon with one of the latest novels by Beatriz Guido, The Invitation, published by Losada in 1979, by Alianza Editorial in 1982 and by Círculo de Lectores in 1984.
