Abstract

A new type of dimethyl oxalate hydrogenated ethylene glycol mixer was studied to meet the requirements that the nozzle flow rate of mixer was 3 400 kg/h , the pressure drop of nozzles was 300 kPa, and the atomized particle size of gas-liquid two-phase mixture was less than 200 μm. Through the study of the atomization performance of the nozzle, a low-pressure, large-flow rate, small-particle size (average particle size was 250 μm) nozzle was designed and manufactured. Based on the principle of secondary crushing of gas-liquid two-phase effecting on spraying particle size, the optimal angle of relatively spraying of liquid phase and high-speed gas was obtained by CFD numerical simulation, and the requirement of atomizing average particle size of gas-liquid two-phase mixture, i. e. , 150 μm, was realized, which provides an important designed consideration for dimethyl oxalate hydrogenated ethylene glycol mixer.
