REDE DE BIBLIOTECAS ESCOLARES EM PORTUGAL: um programa modelo.

This article intends to discribe some aspects of the Network School Libraries Program - PRBE of Portugal. One of the objectives is to introducing Brazilian readers to the principles, structure and actions of PRBE, in order to provide information and inspiration subsides for reflections and practices on a project of networks of school libraries in a national context. PRBE seeks to develop a philosophy of Network, parterships of different educational agents, from different strata of Portuguese society. The article also addresses considerations about origens, principles, quality patterns, functions, actions and projects of the Program. Concerning the methodological procedures, we use as a scientific method the exploratory research and the interview as a research technique. Regarding final considerations, it can be said that the PRBE contributes to the social and political shaping of the citizen, once it is a space that, given its nature, promotes reading and knowledge.
