Abstract

The article presents experiences of a middle aged bowhunter from the leafy Virginia suburbs who fared without a guide in the Tundra wilderness of northern Quebec, while hunting for caribou. Caribou antlers are notoriously complicated. One has all the normal measurements to consider, main beam length, inside spread, mass and length of various points. The author describes the agony of the hunter in the Tundra region. On the last day of bowhunting the hunter set up in a high ridge, a place where he had spotted animals.
