Abstract

The article discusses a dictatorial period in Brazil characterized as a preemptive bourgeois counterrevolution and the rise of the far right in the country. Topics discussed include military dictatorship and neeoliberalism, the Workers' Party in government and its conciliatory politics and the 2018 elections and victory of Jair Bolsonaro as president.
